Supporting young people of secondary school age with a bespoke curriculum

Our Motto

"Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover, with accuracy, the peculiar bent of genius in each child."

Support from Year 7 to Year 11

POD81 is an alternative provision for students who find mainstream education challenging due to their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. We believe in giving our students a bespoke, curriculum to enable them to access learning at their own pace and achieve success.
We support young people of secondary school age with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), as well as young people with a diagnosis of Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND), ASD, ADHD and EBSA. Young people are referred to us through mainstream schools primarily located within Bradford and Leeds. We subsequently offer a bespoke curriculum to vulnerable students who have often been disengaged in education for a long time.

Our Approach

We recognise how education is not a ‘one size fits all’ model therefore we carefully tailor our provision to meet every student’s individual needs. We use a trauma-informed, whole-setting approach to improving the mental health and well-being of our young people, enabling us to appropriately meet pupils’ personal, social, and academic needs. This allows them to achieve vocational attainment and improve pupil motivation, self-confidence, attendance, and engagement with learning.

We welcome all enquiries from mainstream schools, academies and LA’s.
